Obituary of Lee Archer Wilson

  The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.  Psalm 23:1

We have gathered today under the wings of our Heavenly Father to give honor, praise and thanks to God for the life and memory of Brother Lee Archer Wilson.

"Poppa" as he was affectionately called by his granddaughters entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2021.

"Poppa" was born March 2, 1936, in Amelia County to the late Arthur, Sr. and Christine Worsham Wilson. At an early age "Poppa" confessed, was baptized, and joined Manassa Hill Baptist Church where he remained a dedicated, loyal, and faithful member until he joined his wife, the late Louise Wilson at the Mount Level Baptist Church.  He was a dedicated member of the church, usher’s and hospitality ministries. He was a  faithful staff member of the The V. Y. Scott Funeral Home.

"Poppa" loved outdoors working in his yard and garden.  His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of his life.  He was fond of hats and with each outfit he had a hat to match.  Oh how handsome he looked.  

He was joined in holy matrimony to the late Louise Hayes Wilson in 1957.  To this union two loving children were born.  He was preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Booker, Virginia Brooks; brothers, Arthur, Jr., John, and Ben Wilson; and son-in- law, Roy Lawrence.

"Poppa" leaves to cherish fond and precious memories to his loving and devoted children, daughter, Bertha "Puddin" Lawrence, and son, Ronald "Ronnie" Wilson (Benita); two loving granddaughters, Kenyatta Moreland and Nikita Mayfield (Donyare); five adorable great grandkids that he loved and cherished dearly; two brothers, Deacon Samuel Wilson (Gladys), and Robert Wilson (Christine); two sisters, Allyne Patterson (Allen), Christophine Thompson; one aunt, Louise Worsham; two brothers-in-law;  one sister-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends, among them, the Staff of the V. Y. Scott Funeral Home
