Alfred "Pop" Jackson was born on August 3,1942 to the late Horace Jackson and Lillie Bell Walker in Prince Edward County, Virginia. Alfred "Pop" Jackson departed this life on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by is sisters: Helen Jackson and Jenny Jackson.
"Pop" accepted Christ as his Savior at a very early age and was united with Peaks Baptist Church of Prospect, Virginia. Alfred Jackson was united in holy matrimony to Rosemary Jackson (his Honey) in 2008 in Prince Edward County, Virginia.
"Pop" was employed as a Lumber Grader Professional for over fifteen years for Tucker Timber Products Inc., a Custodian for over fifteen years at Young's Quick Corner Store, a Farm Worker for Albert Brisentine while working part-time at Hicks and Carson as a Butcher for over thirty years and various other jobs. In his leisure, "Pop" enjoyed attending church, traveling with is wife, eating "good" food and spending quality time with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Rosemary Jackson; sons, Michael Jackson (Greta) and Frederick Jackson; daughters, Wanda Jackson, Brenda Welton and Torrieann Jackson; stepdaughters; Michelle Ferguson (Mark), Shandell Howell (James), and Sheree Berryman and stepson: Seon Barksdale (Tara); thirteen grandchildren; Raques Redd, Aaron Barksdale, Jada Berryman, Jasmyn Ferguson; Jordyn Ferguson, Jalyn Ferguson, Kyla Barksdale, Jiauni Berryman, Maddox Howell, Staphono Greene, Schpiro Greene, Damora Greene, Dejaun Green; two sisters; Lucy Carter of Farmville, and Emma Jackson of Hempstead, New York; brother: Jonny Jackson of Lynchburg, Virginia; a host of nieces (special thanks to Queen Mosby and Sandra Jackson), nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law: Joe Ann Johnson and Susan Cole (Brian), brothers-in-law; Wayne Johnson and Wilma Johnson, Eugene Solomon, other relatives and friends.
