I knew Bobby in North Carolina and during the time when he opened the Bowie Macys. We lost our dads during the same year. His grief was palpable. Even during that insurmountable sadness, he excelled in his career. The last time I saw him was at the metro center store. He was in a rush and I remember how I regretted not suggesting that we grab a coffee to catch up. To read all the tributes by family and friends breaks my heart because he was far too good, too young, too great a man to lose. He touched so many with his warmth and kindness. He remains one of the most influential people in my life for many of the same reasons so many have shared: larger than life, intelligent, hilarious, kind, loving, loyal, stylish, generous. He lit up any room he entered. His spirit lives on in the multitude of people he touched. I am fortunate to have known him. My sincere sympathy to his family.
